Kindergarten Readiness Camp

The Kindergarten Readiness Camp at Speech Pathology Services is designed to provide your child with the skills necessary for school success. Our Speech-Language and Occupational Therapy integrated curriculum addresses phonological awareness, letter and word recognition, sound–symbol association, fine motor skills, letter formation, handwriting, and visual processing skills.

Happy children after the 2007 SPS Kindergarten Readiness Camp

During our small group format, your child will receive 2.5 hours of Speech-Language Therapy and 2 hours of Occupational Therapy each day. Our fun–packed mornings will consist of the following:

  • Sound awareness activities to include identification of syllables in words, deletion and substitution of sounds in words, and blending of sounds to produce words.
  • Letter recognition & letter-sound recognition integrated into obstacle course, relay, and treasure hunt activities.
  • Tactile play to create letters, numbers, and shapes using different media.
  • Fine motor activities to promote tripod grasp.
  • Practice writing letters, numbers, & words.
  • Movement and word recognition activities.
  • Auditory and visual-sequential processing activities
